Photography > Unwanted Devotion

Unwanted Devotion explores the struggles of the effects of practicing catholicism into practicing self harm. Catholicism often comes with a sense of guilt to a person who no longer practices. From devoting to the Holy Trinity, to devoting to a practice of self-hate, the shame and remorse of catholic guilt come into consciousness when a follower now despises the person they have become and feels they have nowhere else to turn.

The work in Unwanted Devotion has been featured in Pennsiviana College of Art & Design's Photography Hallway Gallery located in Lancaster, PA, for their Advanced Photography Exhibition from December 2024 to January 2025.
